Last flights of 2016

Well unfortunately the weather didn’t produce some magical mid winter soaring for us in South Texas.  However, I did get many opportunities to fly and stay current.  I typically try to fly every chance I can, weather permitting.

Looking back 2016, oh my gosh, hang gliding has really turned me back into a little kid.  The proof is there, the gopro videos on every flight, the multiple tows in one day, the purchase of another glider… I have so much fun flying!!!

Thermaling is really the most awesome thing if I had to specify what part I like best.  Climbing out with hawks, eagles, ospreys, buzzards, falcons, other hang gliders…it just doesn’t get any better than that!

So for 2017 I have signed up for the MIDWEST comp. and I am STOKED!!!  I have a hunch that it is going to be a great time.  This is going to be my first real competition and I am luck because I will have a TON of friends going with me up there.  I can’t wait to get into a big gaggle of pilots and climb out!

But first I need to recover from my surgery and get back to %100.  I also need to lose a few pounds after the holiday season.  Anyways, I am looking forward to meeting some new pilots and flying A LOT this coming year.
